Your twists and turns had my head spinning
And my heart trembling
I honor your role in my growth
And my healing
I honor the gifts of courage and hope
You showered upon me
Even when I didn’t like them
You pulled the rug out from under me
And then laid before me the red carpet
You brought me to my knees
And taught me how to pray
You challenged my beliefs
You took the wind out of my sails
And then showed me the silver lining
You taught me the true meaning of gratitude
You ripped my heart out
Then filled it with love
Your sword cut through my life
And your grace filled the holes that remained
For all the opportunities to walk my walk
For all the messages that restored my faith
For all the reminders that I did not walk alone
For the hope that fills me now
