Self-Love Circles
You might notice that I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to love yourself. It seems to be a conscious theme in my life lately and I like to listen to those themes and respond as best I can.
It helps to define self-love from our personal perspective. At the end of the day, it comes down to our subjective experience. Love is an experience ~ not merely a mental construct.
I like to use Powerful Guiding Questions that align me with my deeper sense of knowing ~ questions that lead me out of my head and into my heart. Try these ones on for fit:
What does love feel like to me?
Is my current state one of loving kindness toward myself?
How can I more deeply feel the energy of love in my life?
If love had a voice, what would it say to me right now?
Now, I don’t expect you to have concrete answers in the moment it takes to ask these questions. Rather, see if you can become genuinely curious about what might be revealed to you as you wait patiently. Be prepared to ask the questions more than once.
What I often find is that the responses reveal themselves in subtle and yet often, profound ways as I continue to move through my life. Sometimes, the answers are cloaked in contrast, in that we experience something that seems to be the direct opposite of what we were seeking. Now, we know what it isn’t.
This is deep stuff. You might find that your mind is flooded with a slew of possible answers as you explore your depths. Hold on to the nuggets that present and then sink into the wisdom that lies just beneath.
When you hit on the physical sensations and emotional embodiment of love you are nearing the heart of the matter. And this becomes your compass as you integrate more self-loving responses in your life.
And what does this do for your Service in the world? Well, it allows you to become a love vessel. Things that fill up eventually overflow. Your ability to be of Service becomes a natural expression of your divinity at that point. It is effortless. And clears up any doubts that may be lingering about your ability to fulfill your mission without losing yourself in the process.
Join Us
On the next episode of Serving Consciously, I have invited Cindy Maki to join us again. Cindy created Self-Love Circles as a support for those wishing to deepen their experience of compassion and acceptance of themselves in a safe and sacred space. We’re going to talk about the Circle and how self-love can be realized in our lives. I hope you can tune in on Friday September 14, 2018 at 12pm (PST) at www.ctrnetwork.com.
In the meantime, I hope you fall more deeply in love with yourself this week.
Make the commitment to respond to yourself with love. Choose one of the Powerful Guiding Questions I offered or create your own as a guide toward feeling the love in your being.
